English Poem – Daydream

Hi there,

I have been time travelling I think!
I had to write a poem about it.
So this poem is based on my ‘reality’.
Wow, what an experience I had.
I feel as if i’m in two worlds at the same time.
Inexplicable!
I hope you enjoy my latest poem.
This time in English.
I added some of my favorite music here too.
I often cry when playing these songs.
Onwards with my time travel journey!

In the middle of the night
I hear him pull on his shoes
I bravely turn on the light
What do I have to lose?

This surely can’t be real?
Is this a dream?
But the hope that fills my heart
wakes me up full steam

I turn off the heating fan
and listen through the silence
could this really be my man
downstairs waiting for us to dance?

No, I don’t hear anything
I must have just imagined
Or is he waiting for me to sing?
these questions leave my senses heightened

Back to sleep and a couple of moments went by
I hear him again loud and clear
singing a song and asking me why
it took me that long to appear

This was not a nightmare
I swear he was there for real
in the morning at the dinner table i stare
at his picture and tell him how i feel

He just gives me that look as he always does
I smile back at him with happy tears
because what a beautiful night it was
to know he’s still here after all these years
