Feminine Pink

Handmade vintage style postcard with Marie in a frame decorated with ribbons and lace, roses and flowers by Ingeborg van Zuiden Weijman

Good Sunday!

I’m wearing pink combined with black today, so I thought it’s a great day to share this simple vintage style postcard with you that i’ve created a while ago. I had some leftover christmas postcards that I didn’t like anymore and thought to transform the front of the card into a piece of art. So now it’s a new unique postcard again, without wasting any paper.

I added some lace and pretty ribbon to it and of course lots of glitter splashes too! The ribbon I love to use is seam binding ribbon. It has this pretty shiny look. These are colours I bought but you can easily dye white seam binding ribbon, or ragged strips of cotton from an old sheet or shirt with using ink and water. I often just spray ink and water on my glass mat and mix it a bit and then push the ribbon into the moisty substance with spraying more water. After that I dry it with a heat tool. Easy peasy!

Those three little pink with yellow flower decorations are flowers cut from a Christmas string which often come in silver and gold, but sometimes also in red and green and I dyed those with permanent markers! I attach them to the card with heavy art medium.

I hope you like my little piece of art today.
We are going to take it easy and rest for the day.
Much needed!
